Stewart L. Appelrouth

Co-Founder

Stewart AppelrouthIn 1985, Stewart Appelrouth co-founded Appelrouth, Farah & Co., where he has developed a reputation as one of the most creative financial and accounting advisors in South Florida.

Appelrouth’s hands-on, direct approach to financial challenges has provided his Clients with solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems.

His accounting experience includes over twenty-five years of providing specialized services such as litigation support, auditing, fraud investigation, and business valuation services as well as, business and tax consulting.

Carlos M. Farah

Co-Founder

Carlos FarahCarlos M. Farah, co-founded Appelrouth, Farah & Co., P.A. in 1985.

His areas of practice include financial, compliance and fraud audits and special report assignments for privately owned and not-for-profit enterprises as well as government agencies. In addition, Mr. Farah has extensive experience in international taxation, assisting a variety of Clients ranging from individual entrepreneurs to foreign corporations and their domestic subsidiaries with their individual tax, corporate tax and business consulting needs.

He has been serving international Clients for more than 25 years and has developed strong business ties to a growing network of professionals specializing in international business and tax matters. Mr., Farah advises his Clients on a wide range of domestic and international tax issues, advising his foreign Clients who invest in the U.S. and his domestic Clients, who invest abroad. Mr. Farah also has assisted Clients in restructuring debt and has assisted Debtor-in-Possession during Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings.

Steven M. Appel

Director of Tax Services

AppelMr. Appel joined Appelrouth, Farah & Co., P.A. in 2004 to lead the firm’s tax practice. He has over 29 years of experience in the areas of general individual and corporate taxation, estate and trust taxation, and partnership/real estate taxation.

Before joining Appelrouth, Farah & Co., P.A. Mr. Appel served as a Tax Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, leading that firm’s Orlando tax practice. Prior to that, he served as a Tax Director leading the Ft. Myers’ tax practice of Coopers & Lybrand LLP.

Mr. Appel has a B.S. degree in Accounting from Florida State University and a J.D. degree from the University of Florida. He is a member of the American and Florida Bar Associations, as well as the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

Edward S. Sachs

Director of Litigation and Valuation Services

Mr. Sachs has spent over 20 years as a forensic accountant building an expertise in litigation and valuation matters. After four years with a national accounting firm and four and a half years with a large local firm, he spent ten years in solo practice assisting attorneys and Clients throughout South Florida in the analysis and presentation of complex accounting and valuation matters in the litigation arena.

Mr. Sachs joined the firm in 1999 as Director of the Litigation Services Department supervising all business valuations, forensic accounting and ad valorem tax appeals handled by the firm. He serves as an expert witness in Federal and Circuit Courts and as a forensic accounting and valuation consultant to legal counsel.

Howard L. Goldstein

Director of Business & Entrepreneurial Services

Mr. Goldstein joined Appelrouth Farah & Co. in 2012 to lead the firm’s Business and Entrepreneurial Services. He has over 35 years experience as a Certified Public Accountant and  broad knowledge in all tax strategies and planning for corporations, partnerships, individuals and start-up companies. Before joining Appelrouth Farah & Co. Mr. Goldstein served as the Managing Partner for Mallah Furman in Miami from 2005 – 2011 and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the State of Israel Bonds, Board Member JHI International, American Jewish Congress and Strategic Forum of Florida. Mr. Goldstein graduated from Rutgers University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Economics.
