For Appelrouth Farah & Co., giving back and supporting the community is not only a top priority, but a passion.  All of the firm’s partners and employees are in some way involved with a non-profit or community organization.  Over the years, the Firm has been recognized for its outstanding volunteer efforts and service in South Florida.

Through Stewart Appelrouth’s leadership, Appelrouth Farah & Co. is very active in the South Florida community.  He is particularly involved with two of South Florida’s most recognized institutions; Florida International University (FIU) and the University of Miami (UM).  Mr. Appelrouth currently serves on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, President’s Council Executive Committee, Medical School Dean’s Advisory Council, Business School Dean’s Advisory Council and the Law School Dean’s Advisory Council. He is also a Life Member of the FIU Alumni Association.  He was awarded the FIU Medallion (Outstanding Alumnus) at their December 2009 Commencement Ceremony.  At the University of Miami, he is a current member and Past President of the Citizens Board, Special Project Fund Committee for the Citizens Board and past member of the Board of Trustees, Employee Retirement Committee and Investment Committee. At the UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Mr. Appelrouth is a past member of the Sylvester Founders Board and a current member of the Friends for Sylvester. Mr. Appelrouth is also involved with Florida State University, his undergraduate alma mater.  He is a Life Member of the Alumni Association and a member of the Foundation President’s Circle.

In 2007, Appelrouth Farah & Co. was awarded the “Put Something Back” Pro Bono “Outstanding Participation” Award for its exceptional contributions to Legal Aid and the low-income members of the community in need of legal assistance. Put Something Back is a joint Pro Bono Project of the eleventh Judicial Circuit and the Dade County Bar Association.
